Summary

Delivering inspiration and "parenting comedy at its finest,"* here is one woman's story of ditching her fairytale dreams and falling in love with her unpredictable, chaotic, imperfect life

Kristina Kuzmič has made herself a household name, speaking directly to mothers from the trenches of parenthood via her viral videos and social media presence。 She is now bringing her message of self-acceptance, resilience, and joy to book readers。 With a refreshingly unpretentious, funny, and galvanizing voice, Kuzmič goes behind the scenes to reveal how she went from broke and defeated to unshakably grounded and brimming with thankfulness。 Illuminating the hard-won wisdom from a life always spent one step behind--whether it was as a high school student new to America, a suddenly single mother to two kids, a newlywed juggling two teens and a newborn, or the unexpected recipient of Oprah's attention and investment--Hold On, But Don't Hold Still is the book every mother needs to reassure her that she's not only fine just as she is, but that she already has more tools and support than she can possibly imagine。 Sparkling with wit, this heartfelt memoir is like a long coffee date with a best friend, or the eleventh-hour text message that gives you just the boost you need to get through the night。

If you find yourself wanting to read a Rachel Hollis book, don't。 And read this instead。 I like listening to books like this on audio and her audio delivery was terrific (of course, if you've ever watched her videos)。 I didn't know much about her life, and the biography aspect of this was very compelling。 If you find yourself wanting to read a Rachel Hollis book, don't。 And read this instead。 I like listening to books like this on audio and her audio delivery was terrific (of course, if you've ever watched her videos)。 I didn't know much about her life, and the biography aspect of this was very compelling。 。。。more

。。。more

This book popped up on my Goodreads and I decided to give it a try。 I had seen two or three of the author’s videos when friends had shared them on Facebook。 They were always funny, and had a good message, so I figured this would be a fun read。 I did not expect to be so completely blown away by this woman, her life, and her wisdom。 I thoroughly enjoyed reading and even copied down several passages。 Unlike other books I have read by influencers, I didn’t feel that she was telling me what to do— or This book popped up on my Goodreads and I decided to give it a try。 I had seen two or three of the author’s videos when friends had shared them on Facebook。 They were always funny, and had a good message, so I figured this would be a fun read。 I did not expect to be so completely blown away by this woman, her life, and her wisdom。 I thoroughly enjoyed reading and even copied down several passages。 Unlike other books I have read by influencers, I didn’t feel that she was telling me what to do— or just spouting platitudes。 She was simply sharing knowledge she had gained from her own experiences and what helped her。 I was more moved than I had expected to be。I will say that after I finished her book, I pulled up her YouTube page and watched a couple more of her videos。 I randomly selected 3, and each one contained something I had already read in the book。 I wonder if you were already an avid fan, if you would have already heard everything she shares in the book。 That would be my only caveat in recommending this otherwise great book。 。。。more

I enjoyed the audio version read by the author。 It was really nice to hear it in her voice。 I dont know if I would put it in the parenting category or the memoir category because it felt to be both。 I love the very real way she talks about her life。 It was easy to relate to and I was eager to hear more。
